Chase & Status have made a career of turning drum & bass into a global force, and their newest single, ‘Disgruntled,’ keeps that momentum going.

The track pairs the iconic London duo with rapper J Hus and grime vocalist IRAH, reuniting a chemistry first sparked on 2023’s barnstorming anthem ‘Baddadan.’ It lands in the middle of a triumphant year for the influential duo, who won the BRIT Award for Producer of the Year in February.

“As producers, and as a creative duo, I think we are probably in one of the best places we’ve been,” they said at the time.

That confidence shows on ‘Disgruntled,’ another surefire rave hit. Rife with rumbling drums and street energy, the track leans into the gritty sound that has defined Chase & Status for more than two decades. J Hus, coming off his own acclaimed year that included a BRIT nomination for his album Beautiful and Brutal Yard, brings a fluid cadence while IRAH injects the bellicose bars that made ‘Baddadan’ a fixture of drum & bass.
