4 New Songs Out Today

Hear new songs by Clairo, John Glacier, Weyes Blood collaborator Strawberry Hands, and more.

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

STRAWBERRY HANDS – “DREAM OF WATER”

Jacob Brunner, who has collaborated with Weyes Blood and Karl Blau over the last few years, has announced his new album as Strawberry Hands. It’s titled A Jazz Blessing for the Animal and will be out September 18 via Otherly Love Records. This first single was inspired by Zen monk and poet Ikkyu Sojun. Brunner says: “Ikkyu was famous for his red thread zen — the red thread of passion running through everyone. He’s a classic holy fool, a spiritual rascal, one of those thinkers who engages seriously with questions of taboo and sensuality.”

CLAIRO – “LOSING PRIDE”

Proceeds from Clairo’s previously unreleased demo track go to Zero Hour, which works to advance climate justice and inclusivity.

JOHN GLACIER – “BOND GIRL”

UK artist John Glacier is back with this new single that, of course, has a spy thriller video.

MEG LUI – “ELVIS QUEEN”

Meg Lui announced her debut album for Asthmatic Kitty, Instant Validation, and gave us a preview with “Elvis Queen,” which you can read more about here.
